Thai Labour Protection Act

  • Employment of workers aged 15 to 18 is considered child labor and requires permission from the local labor office.

  • Employers may not claim a work guarantee if the job does not demand financial or property obligation from the employer, and they must repay the guarantee with interest within seven days of termination.

  • General employees are limited to a maximum of 8 hours per day and 48 hours per week.

  • Pregnant female employees are not permitted to work between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00, nor to work overtime or on holidays.

  • Employees have the right to take leave to undergo sterilization for the time specified by the doctor and still be paid on that day.

  • Employees have the right to decline job-related communication from their employer outside of work hours, unless they have given their written approval at will.
