Every year on December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed to raise awareness, acceptance, and support for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities around the world.

        Thailand has consistently acknowledged and actively promoted the rights, welfare, and capacities of individuals with disabilities. In 2025, the ASEAN Para Games will be conducted subsequent to the SEA Games, serving as a sporting event for individuals with disabilities. This year, it will be held from 20–26 January 2026 in Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

        This is Thailand's second time hosting the ASEAN Para Games, the 13th overall. This time, 19 sports will compete.
