"Ilaraj Kham Chan" is a classic masterpiece penned by Phraya Srisunthonwohar (Phan Salaksana). The story follows King Ilaraj of Bahlika, who accidentally wanders into the sacred realm of the gods Shiva and Uma.

As punishment for trespassing, he is cursed to transform into a woman named Ila. However, Goddess Uma shows him some mercy, granting a blessing that lets him switch genders every month, spending one month as a man and the next as a woman.

Beyond its fascinating storyline, this piece was written as a gold standard to the art of classical Thai poetry (Chan).
