Don't use a hairdryer
or put them under the sun, extreme heat
makes pages’ warp, wrinkle, and
puff up.
The real hero for wet paper
is your freezer. Freezing converts water
molecules into ice crystals between
pages, preventing paper distortion and
slowing down glue damage.
4 steps to
rescue your wet books: Blot, Wrap,
Freeze, Press
• Blot: Use a clean cloth or
thick paper towel to absorb as much
excess water as
possible.
• Wrap: Place the book inside a plastic bag or Ziploc bag (leave it slightly open).
• Freeze: Put the book in the freezer for 1–2 days until it gradually dries out.
• Press: Take it out of the freezer, air-dry with cool wind, flatten under heavy objects for 1–2 days.
No matter how
heavy the rain falls, our books will
survive!!!!!!
