This year, Maha Songkran, or Thai New Year's Day, will be celebrated on Sunday, April 13th, which is April 14 in the Thai lunar calendar year.

The Songkran Goddess for this year is Thungsathewi. Tungsadevi, adorned with a pahura bracelet and pomegranate flowers behide her ears, holds a wheel in her right hand and a conch in her left. Ruby stones and figs are also present in her depiction, as she rests with closed eyes on the back of a Garuda.  Everything associated with Thungsathewi is red because she is the goddess of Sunday.
