In Thailand, particularly in Bangkok and nearby areas, a cloud of ultra-fine dust particles known as PM2.5 has instantly returned and is predicted to remain for many more days.
The Division of Occupational and Environmental Diseases, Department of Disease Control, recommends 5 things you should do and 5 things you shouldn't do to deal with PM 2.5.
5 Things You Should Do.
• Before leaving home, always check the dust levels at Air4Thai or aqicn.org.
• Use a conventional PM 2.5 dust mask, such as N95, KF94, KF80, or a 3D mask.
• Close all doors and windows.
• Every day, wipe the home down with water to prevent the possibility of dust accumulation and exhale.
• Drink plenty of clean water to prevent your mucous membranes from drying up and to trap dust more effectively.
5 Things You Shouldn't Do.
• Avoid working outside the buildings.
• Avoid exercising outdoors.
• Reduce the usage of personal vehicles or vehicles that emit soot.
• Don't burn trash or agricultural produce outside.
• Do not burn incense or produce smoke.
