World Firefly Day is held on the first Saturday and Sunday of July every year, 3-4 July this year. There are activities to build correct knowledge and understanding about firefly conservation. To encourage people to realize the importance of fireflies and help protect the environment

Fireflies are important to the ecosystem because it is an indicator of the abundance of ecosystems. Where are the fireflies show that the area has an abundance of ecosystems. Because a complete ecosystem will support the life cycle of fireflies from worms to adults. But if the area is polluted, chemically contaminated water, that will cause the firefly worm to die  and decrease the number of fireflies from an unsafe environment.

Contribute to the conservation of fireflies through environmental management in the orchard from the research results of Asst Prof Dr.Tassanawalai Uthasakul. The study was conducted on soil and water quality suitable for firefly conservation in the orchard area of Amphawa district, Samut Songkram province

The study was conducted in the area of canals that flow through 3 orchards. This resulted in a map of the distribution of firefly populations in each type of orchard area. That make it known which area, the firefly population lives in a dense. For utilized in the planning and management of  tourist attractions and appropriate environmental management plans for each type of orchard area to conserve firefly populations.
