        Children are the most important human resource for the development of a country. Therefore, they deserves to be take care of, protected and developed to grow up to be an adult who is complete physically, mentally, emotionally and intellectually. The emotional dimension or emotional intelligence of a child is one of the most important factors for parents. Teacher or child caregiver should focus on developing and enhancing it better. Because it is the foundation of life to make today's children grow up to be emotionally mature adults, success in study and work including living happily with others                           Study of mental health, researchers assessed the emotional intelligence of preschool children, Samut Songkhram Province. To find the relationship between family fundamentals with the emotional intelligence of preschool children between the ages of 3-5 years. Using the Family Fundamentals Questionnaire and emotional intelligence assessment form according to the standards of the Department of Mental Health. It was found that the emotional intelligence of preschool children Samut Songkhram Province is below the standard. Family income, occupation, age and educational level of parents, guardians of preschool children, they were related to emotional intelligence, gender, marital status, the number of children in the family, the order of the children. The children assessed were children born from the current spouse, mother, guardian of the preschool child not relation to emotional intelligence
