Tom Metcalf. (2023, November), DNA fragments on ancient teeth : National Geographic Thai edition : 27
Scientists extracted ancient human DNA from items made from deer teeth (bottom) that they had worn in contact with the wearer's skin. This could leave DNA stuck for nearly 20,000 years. Studying DNA from tools, arrowheads and sewing needles made from animal teeth and bones may shed light on the gendered division of labor in ancient human activities.
