“Yuan Xiao Festival” or “Lantern Festival”. This festival is important for Chinese people. After the Chinese New Year, a full moon is appeared for the first time according to the Lunar calendar. It marks the end of New Year’s celebrations. On that day, Chinese people like to eat Bua Loy dessert because they believe it brings the prosperity to oneself and family. After that, they go out to see lanterns decorated along streets and various places. In Thailand, there are a lot of Chinese-Thai people. During important Chinese festivals, they often hold celebrations together. Yuan Xiao Festival is also an important festival. Every year, Bangkok’s Chinatown (Yuowarat) and Chinese-Thai communities all over the country hold a big Yuan Xiao Festival by adhering to traditional Chinese traditions.
