There are merit-making festivals in practically every region of Thailand today. Although each region has its own name, they are all similar in that they create merit and dedicate it to departed family members or ancestors.
Today is Sart Thai in the central area. Krayasart can often be found at festivals.
This merit-making ceremony is known in the northeastern region as "Bun Khao Sak," which is also referred to as Krayasart.
