Storing books in the library is controlled by book classification, which means arranging books with the same or similar content in the same location and labeling them for ease of search.
The Academic Resource Center, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University categorize books with Dewey's decimal system divides the knowledge or content of the world's books into ten major categories:
  • 000 Computer science, information and general works
  • 100 Philosophy
  • 200 Religion
  • 300 Social sciences
  • 400 Language
  • 500 Science
  • 600 Technology
  • 700 Arts and recreation
  • 800 Literature
  • 900 History and geography
Each major category is also divided into subcategories internally in order to define the scope of the content. Dewey's decimal system employs three-digit numeric symbols and a decimal point, and the #LibrarySurvivalGuide101 will point out interesting books in each category, as well as where to find them.
