7th April, 1897, or 125
years ago, was the day that His Majesty
King Chulalongkorn had traveled by the
Maha Chakri Barge to visit Europe for
the first time. To observe the rule of
the civilized country and develop royal
friendship with more than ten European
countries. Total travel time is 253 days
or more than 8 months.
During that time it was an
era of colonization of European powers.
His Majesty has developed good relations
with various countries. As the head of a
prosperous country, equality status is
the way to equal diplomatic
treatment.
The success of the expedition was
to negotiate directly with the French
leadership to resolve the conflict in
the event of the crisis of 112 R.E. and
to establish alliance with Russia during
the reign of Tsar Nicholas II. Romanov
dynasty, including the presence as a
leader of a country that is civilized in
the eyes of foreigners.

Chulalongkorn made a trip to Europe
again in 1907, which is a journey in
private and is the origin of the royal
writing "Khai Ban", which is a
collection of 43 royal handwritten
letters that have been given to Her
Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri
Sirindhorn Prince Niphanpadon
Wimonpraphawadi, Krom Khun U Thong Khet
Kattiyanaree, Her Royal Highness's
secretary.
