Eugene Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a Renaissance Post-Impressionist French artist known for experimenting with color theory and a synthetist style of work.
Gauguin also influenced engraving and woodblock prints, which were the first indigenous works of art to be recognized as art forms.
