Tanabata, or the Star Festival, commemorates the heartfelt love story of Orihime (the Weaving Princess) and Hikoboshi (the Cowherd).

Because their profound devotion caused them to disregard their responsibilities, the heavens separated them with the enormous Milky Way and allowed to reunite once a year on July 7th.

During this magnificent festival, cities throughout Japan come alive! Bamboo branches will be decked with colorful wishes and decorations, much like a joyful Christmas tree.
