         Storing books in the library controlled by the classified system called Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC). It is arranging books with the same or similar content in the same place and mark them for ease of searching.

         For books in classification 500 of the DDC is a group of sciences. The classification is divided into 10 sub-categories to identify more specific places to store books, including:

  • 500 Natural sciences and mathematics Philosophy and theory

  • 510 Mathematics

  • 520 Astronomy & allied sciences

  • 530 Physics

  • 540 Chemistry & allied sciences

  • 550 Earth Sciences

  • 560 Paleontology, paleozoology

  • 570 Life sciences

  • 580 Botanical sciences

  • 590 Zoological sciences

         All of the 500 collections are available on an open shelf where users can pick up the books themselves, locate His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary Building (Chalermprakiet Building). The books in this category have a light blue tape as a symbol on the spine of the book.
