Jim Thompson Art Center
The new building on the former site of the Jim Thompson House Museum under the direction of the James H.W. Thompson Foundation covers 3,000 square meters. It emphasizes open spaces to allow air to circulate with key materials such as bare cement, brick, steel and glass, under the concept of making art more accessible to people and make the contemporary art industry get attention including being widely popular.
Including adding more space to "sit and talk" than focusing on just looking at art.
The Jim Thompson Art Center's exhibition space is divided into an indoor section on the 3rd floor and an outdoor section on the rooftop. On the 3rd floor area is a rotating art exhibition. The rooftop area is prepared for the sculpture show.
William Warren Library on the 2nd floor offers books, magazines and DVDs related to Jim Thompson's life and work. It also has books on art, design, culture, architecture, sculpture and tourism, which is the interest of Jim Thompson.
The Museum Shop, in addition to selling general souvenirs, posters, books, also has interesting OTOP items that are occasionally on sale.
Jim Thompson Art Center open Wednesday - Monday (Closed on Tuesdays) from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The library is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
