November 1908, Foundation Stone Laying
Ceremony of Ananta Samakhom Throne
Hall.
Ananta Samakhom
Throne Hall is the only marble throne in
Thailand. It was built with white marble
from Carrara, Italy. It was inspired by
the dome of St. Peter's Cathedral,
Vatican City and St Paul's Church of
London. The interior is decorated with
frescoes related to the important
activities of the King's
reigns.
The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall
featured a large central dome made of
copper with a diameter of about 15
meters and included six sub-domes, but
due to rust, it changed its color to a
bluish-green color today.
