9/11 was an attack by Al Qaeda. Four planes were hijacked and forced two to crash into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Office of the Ministry of Defense in Arlington Virginia. Resulting in the deaths of 2,977 people,
this incident pushed the United States to join the war in Afghanistan for up to 20 years.
