The clover leaf,
one of the symbols of St. Patrick's
Day, often has three leaves. The myth
said that a four-leaf clover will brings
you a good luck. And even if there is no
clover, the Academic Resource Center
wishes the luck be with you.
St. Patrick's
Day is both a national and religious
holiday in Ireland. This day of
remembrance for Saint Patrick,
Ireland's patron saint, is one of
the most widely observed celebrations in
Ireland.
Overseas Irish people have
made St. Patrick's Day's greens,
clovers, and black beer into a global
celebration. Thanks to Irish
immigration, the United States has
parades that are just as entertaining as
Mardi Gras.
Many landmarks throughout the
world are also participating in the
celebration by turning green, including
parts of the Chicago River, the London
Eye, and the India Gate in Mumbai,
India, which will be lit green and white
for the occasion.
