The National Library of Thailand, Fine Arts Department, cordially invites you to the exhibition "R.S. 242: Admiring Golden Lacquer Cabinets, Preserving Artistic Heritage." Discover the breathtaking beauty of Lai Rod Nam (Thai gilded black lacquer art) on scripture cabinets—an ancient craftsmanship born out of tradition, culture, belief, and deep faith in Buddhism.

The exhibition showcases 47 scripture cabinets spanning the Ayutthaya, Thonburi, and Rattanakosin periods, featuring exquisite motifs that depict Buddhist tales, the Ramakien epic, Thai and Chinese guardian deities, as well as the mystical Himavanta forest and its mythical creatures, alongside a historic Parisian clock of HRH Prince Damrong Rajanubhab. Drop by from Wednesday to Sunday (9 AM – 4 PM). Admission is completely free!
