Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand BE 2550 (2007) has stipulated that a referendum can be voted on in two cases: In the case where the Council of Ministers is of the opinion that any business may affect the interests of the nation or the people. The other is, in the case where there is a law requiring a referendum. The state must provide sufficient information and the parties who agree and do not agree with that business have equal opportunity to express their opinions.
