This beautiful library is located near Beijing. Designed by the Dutch company MVRDV.
The interior of the building is designed to be pure white. It is a tall hall similar to a temple. The bookshelves are undulating to ceiling where visitors can walk along the shelves and select to view all books.
However, the hallmark of a library doesn't come from books or wavy shelves, but from the design of the round eyes in the center of the building.
The Tianjin Library was built as part of an effort to make Tianjin a more cultural hub. A library is not just a place to store books. It also connects visitors to nearby parks.
