It is under the responsibility of the Bureau of National Treasures, Department of the Treasury. It is a museum displaying valuable historical assets of the Thai nation.
Starting from exhibiting
only Thai coins by using part of the
Phra Klang office building beside the
Grand Palace as an exhibition place, it
is called "Thai Coin
Pavilion".
After receiving attention
from both Thai and foreign visitors thus
increasing the display of decorations
insignia and change the name from
“Thai Coin Pavilion” to a
“Pavilion of Royal Insignia,
Insignia and Coins"
The exhibition is divided into the permanent exhibition on the 1st floor displays interesting and valuable historical assets with a distinctive identity showing the prosperity of Thai arts and culture.
The permanent exhibition on the 2nd floor displays decorations in various categories. Royal decorations in important royal ceremonies as well as a video screening of the royal ceremony.
It also exhibits the story of the land's valuable assets such as the Emerald Buddha amulet, the silver tree, the gold tree, etc., and the evolution of Thai currency from the past to the present reign.
Currently, Hall of Insignia and coin is closed for renovations. There is open to visitors only in the Thai money evolution room and a revolving exhibition room from 7 October 2016 onwards.https://www.museumthailand.com/.../The-Pavilion-of...
