Noh Na Paknam,
a painter and writer who brings the
beauty of Thai art to
society
Noh Na Pak Nam or Prayoon
U-luchada, Samut Prakan people, born in
November 21, 1928, an exceptionally
talented artist in painting. He is both
a pioneer of new painting and conserving
old painting.
Prayoon U-luchada
graduated from Poh Chang School and
continued studied at the Faculty of
Painting and Sculpture, Silpakorn
University with Professor Silp Bhirasri
until receiving a Diploma of Fine Arts
in Painting and
Sculpture.
Later, he served at the
College of Fine Arts and Silpakorn
University for a while before leaving
the government service. Then taking up
writing as his main job using his
experience in ancient art preservation
in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province and
other places. His works that are always
mentioned include "Five Months in
the Middle of Ayutthaya" and
"Dictionary of
Art".
Especially the five months
in the middle of the brick and mortar
ruins in Ayutthaya, which later raised
the issue of registration and
conservation of historical landmarks of
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
Including later generations of artists
and the general public turned their
attention to the preservation of Thai
art and ancient national
monuments.
In addition to being
proficient in art history and Thai fine
arts, Ajarn Prayoon is also interested
in astronomy and astrology and has left
a number of his works under the pen name
"Plu
Luang".
