In a world where religion
is more influential than political
institutions, the theory that humans are
descended from apes rather than from
God's creation generates a lot of
controversy. However, Charles Darwin, at
50 years old, strongly believes that
life has "evolved." The
changes on earth follow a natural
"rule" and that the law may
not be divine as
believed.
This sentiment led to the
theory of evolution and the book
“The Origin of Species” in
1859 that shook the entire religious,
church, social and political circles of
that era.
In addition, to the
classic knowledge that has become a base
for future scientists to study
continuously. The origin of species also
represents the human power of trying to
understand nature and does not succumb
to special powers that are beyond logic
and reason.
