27th October 1904, The New York City subway opened for the first time.

        The New York City Subway is a public transportation network in the New York City metropolitan area. It operates 26 routes, 472 stations, with a total length of 380 km, covering four New York City districts: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx. 

        There are more than 6 million people use the service on weekdays, which is the most active in the Western Hemisphere.
