เชกสเปียร์เป็นนักเขียนที่มีบทบาทสำคัญยิ่ง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นวรรณกรรม ละคระเวที ภาพยนตร์ และแม้แต่เป็นส่วนหนึ่งในวิวัฒนาการของภาษาอังกฤษ
